here's to life.

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainty that just to be alive is a grand thing. - Agatha Christie

Spotted the spelling mistakes yet? Haha, yes but it'll get better. The girl doing it had to churn it out fast so nothing was checked. This is the first draft of the poster for our upcoming Media Seminar! For the first time in history, I get to work with such a "luxurious" team ... 52 people planning a day seminar. As part of our final year project, we have to organise a symposium to showcase our research projects from last semester. We do this by inviting industry experts to participate in discussions and panels about the future of media ... as we investigated in our projects. Quite exciting!

It's been lovely working with my classmates and lecturers. Last semester, I couldn't get any one of them to even acknowledge my existence but this sem, they're not only opening up, they're also involving me in projects and listening to my opinion. The lecturers confirm my ability and I can feel that I'm no longer just skirting round like an outsider but am actively applying what I'm learning. Contrary to popular opinion, not all the Aussies are laid back, in fact, this close-knit cohort of 52 are the most competitive people I've ever seen. They work hard, play hard and are actually NICE ... something very similar to my Class of '03 MCM batch.

I feel sad that they're graduating this semester ... I just got to know them, but there they go ... sigh ...

------------

And talking about leaving, huge changes are happening to The House ... Amy, my housemate is leaving because she just broke up with her boyfriend who's living in the same place, across the corridor. Another guy is leaving too ... and at the end of the year, 2 more may be leaving.

Although I think it's for the best, they have found or will find places that suit them better, but the comfy atmosphere of The Second Floor is changing ... and I'm not used to it.

------------

Amy's definitely moving out :( . The new person moving in is both a friend of a friend I made here, and of someone back home! And I JUST found out that my other housemate is Jessica Thomas' church mate!

I thought I came here to get a bit of Aussie culture here ... and I end up staying sandwiched in between 2 perfect strangers who just happened to be linked up with me in some bizarre way.

Call it the Friendster-phenomenon.
