here's to life.

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainty that just to be alive is a grand thing. - Agatha Christie

Eternity
Words & Music by Deb Fung

My friend you are the apple of my eye
Light in my heart
I don’t know if you know how much
You mean to me
Each day I pray for you
That Jesus reaches you
For you know that I want you with me in eternity
I see your heart / And I believe in you
You’re set apart
For the One who made you made me
Cross paths with you
As we do life together
Can you just always remember
I am here for you
When you feel tired
When you feel lonely, uninspired
Lift your eyes to heaven
There, friend is your Comforter and Strength
When you rejoice in blessing
Something in you might start guessing that God is watching over you
If I have failed to show you accurately
I’m in love with the God who loves me more than anything
And it’s not like He has chosen to just favour me
I was just blessed to have somebody share His love with me

A gem to start the day with.

A good friend (with equally good taste) sent her web link to me and they have this radio tuner thingy where you can listen to track samples of her CD. Deb's voice has a natural, cosy quality that sounds like the girl-next-door twanging on her guitar. She doesn't go growl-y like Britney or angsty like Avril, or saccharine-ly sweet like Mandy. I'm drawn to the honest character of that mellow yet clear, strong voice .

Although they chopped Eternity at the fifth line, I caught enough of the song to want to read the rest of the lyrics. I think it's a terrific song to start the CD not only because of the uplifting lyrics, but this song echoes the burden that has been on my heart for a long while. And somebody else thinks the same way too!

She's like the next Corrinne May ... the Christian version.
